Update Your LinkedIn Status with WorldMate

With WorldMate 3.5 you’re now able to update your current status as soon as you hit the ground, which should provide you not only an additional way to communicate effectively with your immediate network but also a new way to tap into the local knowledge network you’re a part of.

Status information will be broadcast to your connections as a network update and will also appear as a new element on your profile page. Remember that there is a 140 character limit on status message and if you tweet don’t forget to link your twitter account with LinkedIn.

I'm hesitant to update my travel status online due to the fact that there are people with unsavory intentions who will then know that I'm away from home. I'm not sure that combining WorldMate and LinkedIn is the best idea.

It really says a lot about the low quality of software that WorldMate wins any awards.
Recently I got a firmware update pushed from Verizon. This caused me to lose my Worldmate trips in the past. I sent an email, and was told that I didn't get tech support because it's a free application. But I say that a competent manual and a way to ask questions from a community is standard even for free software (and given the way the BlackBerry version directs one to certain suppliers, the application isn't really "free").
I could also say that the supposed "improvement" with Linked In forced me to uninstall WorldMate, as I could not either decline the update or install it. I had to uninstall, then reinstall. This is called A BUG. And WM is full of them.
I continue to look for alternatives to WM for my relatively few trips. But I can say that the lack of a way to communicate questions to other users (which is deliberate so that people buy the way-overpriced "Gold" membership) is unsavory.
