Exclusive New Features
Only WorldMate brings you iPhone apps with these exclusive features:
•
Automatic alerts
delivered to your iPhone
will let you know if your flight has been delayed, diverted or canceled, or if the flight departure gate has been changed.
• These alerts are powered by iPhone’s new “Push” technology, and ensure that you are always in the loop, and that you never have to check for updates.
• Our Smart Search for hotels refines your search to find the perfect hotel for you. Now you can search for a hotel near any location you choose, including city landmarks or the location of your next meeting. Choose to be in the thick of it near Times Square, or stick to Wall Street for a shorter commute to your conference.
Hotel bookings are always just a click away. New for iPhone: For last-minute booking, choose the “Near Me” option: Using a GPS sensor, WorldMate’s travel itinerary app will check where you are currently located, and then find all the hotels that are closest to you (and which match your preferences for budget, star rating, and amenities).
You can then book the hotel directly through the WorldMate travel itinerary application, and show up at the hotel with your reservation ready to hand.
• Tip Calculator: You’re at a restaurant in Hong Kong with colleagues, and the bill arrives. What do you do? Tipping practices vary from country to country—sometimes the service is included in the bill, while in other places you are not expected to leave a tip at all.
With the iPhone travel app’s new tip guide and calculator, you will be a pro at every restaurant in the world, from Paris to Singapore.

You guys have to be kidding. It is ridiculous that if a user moves from a Blackberry to an iPhone that the account is not transferable.

Take a look at our post on the subject from June 18 - linked here: http://blog.worldmate.com/2009/06/worldmate-gold-users-switching-to-iphone.html
It presents a solution. Still we are discussing with Apple and if we get their blessing we'll have a better one.

The main problem with this App is that it does not allow you to create an itinerary on the go from your iphone. I used to be able to search for flights with your program and then add that flight to an itinerary right from my mobile device. That is so important for doing things on the go fast. Sending an email itinerary doesn't work all the time because I make my flight plans with an agent for work. This is really the most important feature for me...creating itineraries directly on the local app!

Good point. We have a discussion ongoing about this on our Facebook page - www.facebook.com/worldmate . Take a look there and maybe comment?

Tina,
You can and should use the www.worldmate.com website. sign-in through the homepage using your email and password (that you've used on your iPhone). Then you'll be able to manage your itineraries - edit, create and delete them, view maps, add items and information, share with colleagues etc.
