WorldMate 2009 For Symbian is Available!
WorldMate 2009 for Symbian is a huge step forward for Symbian-equipped business travelers. It will make your Nokia or Samsung S60 phone your best friend while traveling, enabling you to make informed, real-time decisions, and put you ahead of other passengers in crisis situations like a delayed or missed flight. Whether you're using a Nokia E71, N95 or the touch-screen N97, it will turn your device into the ultimate travel companion.
The heart of the system is the new home screen or "Dashboard". It gives you some of the key info you need at a glance, including the current location, date, weather and the status of your upcoming flight(*) . Using the carousel at the bottom of the screen you can reach all other services, including World Clocks, Currency Conversion and Currency Rates, real-time Flight Status(*), comprehensive worldwide Flight Schedules(*), and the Flight Alerts(*) service.
WorldMate is a free download, with many services provided for free, including worldwide weather forecasts, world clocks, a currency converter with an online rates update, and a day/night world map:
An extremely popular service is the Weathercaster. You can set it up to read you the weather forecast once or twice a day. Yes, we said "read". Weathercaster speaks out the weather forecast for you...
Professional travelers should go for the Gold-level subscription. For a few Euros a month, this will get you out of situations that would otherwise cost you a lot more time and money. 2 key services for travelers are the real-time Flight Status service and the Flight Alerts (tracking) service. These utilize a real-time status feed covering over 350 airlines worldwide, to tell you in real-time when a flight is delayed, canceled or diverted. Just put in your flight number and date, and the system will start tracking your flight:
Full flight information - terminal, gate, time and status are provided. In case of a change in the flight - delay, cancellation etc., your phone will alert you and provide the latest information:
I'm sure you'd agree this is critical information to get in such a situation. In some cases - it just means leaving for the airport later, or more time to spend in the lounge. But in others - it means you're stranded. How can you get back home? Or get to your meeting in time?
This is where the Flight Schedules service comes in handy. You see, it covers commercial flights for over 800 airlines, and provides both direct and connected flights. So wherever you are, and wherever you're going, it probably knows how to get you there. Just put in your origin, destination, and the time you want to leave, to get a list of alternatives. You can put in the city names, in which case you'll get all possible flights leaving or arriving into any airport in that metroplex. If you want to select a specific airport - put in the 3-letter airport code (e.g. LHR for London Heathrow).
What if you're meeting and greeting? That's when the Flight Status service comes in handy. Put in your peer's flight number and date, to get real time status.
Often when flights are delayed or canceled, it's due to severe weather conditions. Use the Weather Imagery service to view animated weather satellite imagery in the relevant areas - and find out in advance what's going on!
So now you know what makes WorldMate the world's #1 mobile travel service. Over 2 million people rely on WorldMate daily to assist them when traveling. Download it now. And if you're serious about your travel, Go Gold and let WorldMate help you avoid some of the stress and time loss involved in business travel.
Haven't downloaded yet? What are you waiting for?
(*) Services marked (*) require a Gold level subscription.

WorldMate 6.0 update screen says E90 compatible version of 2009 will be available soon. But almost a year later, WorldMate 2009 still isn't compatible with E90. Is it still planned or it has been dropped?

It's time, MobiMate! Time to make your WorldMate Pro for Symbian (and for iPhone, for those users) as good as the OLDER versions on OLDER platforms.
What do I mean? Only that there are features important to regular travellers (e.g., Packing List) that are present on my Palm version but ABSENT on the Symbian version.
WHY? Are people's memories IMPROVING with age? Or did the folks at MobiMate fail to put "Packing List" on their own Developer's "Packing List," so to speak? It's missing, and missed, and really needs to be restored.
I'm TRYING to move to a single Symbian device, but one of the last hold-ups (not the only one...) is WorldMate Pro. The absence of features has me lugging my Palm TX AND my Nokia E71. I'd sure like to shed the Palm, folks.
What's the chance of putting the missing features into the next point release of WorldMate for Symbian?
Thanks.

This application is worthless - until it can download my itineraries from WorldMate live, this is a complete waste of time.
I cannot believe that anybody with a Symbian phone would pay anything for this application.
If that one thing were fixed, I would pay up in a second.

Well, my migration from Palm to Symbian (and probably later to Android) proceeds apace, in spite of Mobimate. I went ahead and transferred my WorldMate Pro license from Palm to a Symbian Gold license. Thanks for that at least, Mobimate.
But, I must say that WorldMate Gold for Symbian is one of the most disappointing pieces of software I've ever seen. If the bar had not been set so high by PRIOR WorldMate releases, my interest in the product would have been nil, and my disappointment non-existent.
But, this is a truly unfortunate example of something gone badly wrong in marketing and programming. Do people actually spend money on this product? If so, WHY? It is such an unfunctional product as to really make me wonder what's going on.
Did Mobimate lose their obviously capable programmers? Or what? Even the features for which one must pay (e.g., airline schedules) don't have the former option of adding selected flights to one's itinerary.
I could go on, but I won't. It's telling that the email robot one gets when registering proudly points to THIS BLOG! That strikes me as less candid than disorganized and clueless.
My direct communications with Mobimate about the reduced functionality of their latest versions have been met with polite but unhelpful (i.e., "we took input from users", etc.) comment.
WorldMate was (and is on Palm, and I assume other devices) a grand utility. Worth subscribing to. That's changed, and the change appears to be permanent. Tell me it ain't so, Mobimate!

vi ho contattato piu volte e fino ad ora ancora non siete stati capaci di riinviarmi il codice senza parlare dell'assoluto silenzio da voi perpetrato dal giorno 27/7!!!

Hi,
New to Worldmate and I want to say that I find it to be a really cool app. It simply makes my Nokia n73 come alive.
A very helpful app. I'm using the 2009 version and I'm not having any issues with it.
Contemplating going Gold, but I would really appreciate it if Abuja (the capital city of Nigeria) is included in the list of Nigerian cities.
Tham
Thanks guys, keep up the good work.

It is stupid application. This program don't have knowledge about big Russian cities. I can select Novosibirsk GMT+6h and Irkutsk GMT+8h, but can't select Krasnoyarsk GMT+7, it is missing! Were is GMT+7??? It's not for people. I deleted this application after 10 minutes - It can not be used for its intended purpose.
----
Тупое приложение. Список городов в России представлен десятком городов. Пропущены целые временные пояса, на пример отсутствует Красноярск GMT+7. Приложение не для людей. Для кого? Не знаю.
